About Unify Families

Unify Families began in 2012, by founder Brooke Farrell, with a focus on support for teens and families during the transition home from a wilderness therapy program or residential treatment center. Since then, Unify Families has evolved to also offer individual, parent, and family-focused support during times of relational distress, transition, and grief and loss. Unify Families offers various modalities–therapy, assessment, and online courses–to promote relational health and well-being.

Meet Brooke Farrell

Brooke brings over 20 years of clinical experience to her work with clients. She completed her Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2000, and her Ph.D. in Child & Family Studies in 2004, both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. With a research-focused doctorate, Brooke taught in academia before returning to her clinical roots as a therapist with a wilderness therapy program (combining her love of therapy and the outdoors), then as a clinical director at a residential treatment center. In 2012, Brooke started Unify Families to support teens and families during the transition home from a residential treatment program, and Unify Families has expanded to include many services for individuals, parents, and families who are in challenging times and need therapeutic support.

At the core of each of the services Unify Families provides is Brooke’s deep dedication to helping people find their way back home, both inside themselves and within their relationships.

In her free time, Brooke enjoys hiking, mountain biking, spending time with family, and trying out new vegetarian recipes. She lives in Asheville, NC with her husband, twin daughters, and 2 energetic Italian Greyhounds.
